Chapter 01
Beyond the Last Road
The road ends forty kilometres south. From there the station is reached on foot, up a service stair cut into the ridge and lit by the few lamps that survive the winter.
Chapter 02
Listening North
Seven dishes turn together toward a sky no one can see. They are not looking. They are listening: to hydrogen, to pulsars, to the slow static of the galaxy passing overhead.
Chapter 03
The Silent Eye
Under the dome the main instrument waits for the weather. It has waited through fifty winters. Its mirror has seen light older than the ice beneath the floor.
Chapter 04
When the Storm Breaks
Some nights the wind simply stops. The cloud lifts off the ridge, the array falls quiet, and the sky arrives all at once.
